About Us

Our Story

Aim High Learning Services was founded by a committed professional educator who has background in education, with advanced degrees and credentials in Education, Special Education, Early Childhood Education, English and Teaching English to Second Language (ESL) Learners.

Aim High built awareness on issues of early literacy, parental literacy, and promoting education and advocating the rights of youth and children.

Commendations & Recognition

Aim High Learning received recognition for our service to Pasadena City College (PCC) by Assemblymember Ed Chau and Senator Carol Lui. Aim High coordinated the annual event Pathways to Success sponsored by the College and the AAPI Advisory Committee to the PCC President to promote access to education in the Greater San Gabriel Valley.

Community Events

Aim High Learning Services hosted free annual public awareness events in celebration of the National Week of the Young Child which was attended by parents, children and elected officials. Event sponsors have included S.C. Edison, Pasadena Fire Department, Trader Joe's and Ralph's Supermarkets and others.

Senator Carol Liu recognized our contributions to the community and also attended our events. We have been honored by State Assemblymembers, State Senators, Pasadena Councilmembers and the Mayor of Pasadena.

Education Advocacy

Aim High's Executive Director, Jeanne Shamim, served as honorary board member on other nonprofit boards, including the Community Advisory Board for KCET, public television.  In celebration of Asian Pacific Heritage month, she attended the annual award ceremony honoring Local Heroes held at KCET studios.

Aim High Executive Director was honored with a Certificate of Appreciation for serving on the Steering Committee for Los Angeles Unified School District construction/upgrade for San Fernando Valley schools.

She also served on the Pasadena City College President's Advisory Board for APIs for over 11 years.
